About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Artist to join our team developing hybrid-casual mobile games. This role will focus on bringing our 2D and 3D art assets into Unity in the most visually appealing, technically optimized and mobile-friendly way.
We are not looking for only a traditional 3D Artist. We are looking for someone who understands how art behaves inside Unity on mobile devices and can make sure our games look polished while staying lightweight and performant.
Applications including a portfolio will be prioritized during the review process.
Responsibilities
- Bring 2D/3D art assets into Unity, setting up scenes, cameras, lighting, and materials
- Optimize models for mobile performance (polycount, texture size, material count, etc.)
- Balance visual quality and performance using URP, post-processing, shadows, and batching settings
- Use Unity Profiler, Frame Debugger, and similar tools to find and fix performance bottlenecks
- Apply optimization techniques like texture atlases, mipmaps, and LODs
- Set technical art standards for the team (export rules, naming conventions, texture limits)
- Own the visual integration process from prototype through live production
Requirements
- Experience with Unity in mobile game development
- Background as a Technical Artist, Unity Artist, or 3D Artist with technical focus
- Strong knowledge of URP, lighting, cameras, materials, and prefabs
- Experience moving assets from Blender/Maya/3ds Max/Cinema 4D into Unity
- Understanding of draw calls, batching, shader cost, and texture memory
- Ability to test and evaluate performance on real devices
- Strong artistic eye (composition, color, lighting)
- Experience with Shader Graph or HLSL
- Basic C# knowledge for editor tools or pipeline scripts
- Experience with Addressables, Asset Bundles, or build size optimization
- Knowledge of VFX and particle systems optimization
- Rigging/animation import or optimization experience
- Shipped mobile game experience is a plus
- A portfolio including Unity mobile scenes, before/after optimization examples, stylized/low-poly visuals, or published games/demos is preferred
- Genuine passion for mobile games and game development
