About the Role

We are looking for a 2D Character Animator to bring our characters to life with expressive, polished, and mobile-friendly animations. You will create character animations in Spine and support Unity implementation.

Applications including a portfolio will be prioritized during the review process.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality 2D character animations using Spine/Unity Animator
  • Animate idle, walk, run, celebrate, lose, interact, reaction, and gameplay-related motions
  • Prepare Spine/Unity Animator rigs and animation structures suitable for Unity
  • Work closely with artists and developers to ensure animations work well in-game
  • Create animations that support character personality, gameplay readability, and visual appeal
  • Optimize Spine/Unity Animator animations for mobile performance
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback and technical requirements
  • Maintain consistency with the project’s animation style

Requirements

  • Experience in 2D character animation
  • Strong knowledge of Spine/Unity Animator
  • Understanding of Unity animation implementation
  • Strong grasp of animation principles such as timing, spacing, anticipation, squash and stretch, follow-through, and appeal
  • Ability to create expressive animations with clear silhouettes
  • Understanding of mobile game animation constraints
  • Ability to collaborate with Art, Product, and Development teams
  • Portfolio or showreel demonstrating character animation quality
  • Experience in mobile, casual, hybrid-casual, or puzzle games
  • Experience preparing sprite sheets and Unity-ready animation assets
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, Toon Boom, or similar tools
  • Basic drawing or illustration skills
  • Genuine passion for mobile games and game development
